The rules
Written so you know what you are buying. This page is the product, not a pitch deck.
The first rule of bid club is you don’t talk about bid club. Cute.
The real first rule: you don’t say who paid. Votes are anonymous. The fight is public. Talking about the club is the point. A boost or a suppress never shows a name, a handle, or a receipt on the page. If you want credit, buy a slot on the board under your own URL.
What this is
A public paid list and a two-up fight. #1 and #2 sit in the ring. Anyone can pay to boost or bury either fighter. The rest of the board is ranked by bid. Clicks on listings are counted and shown. That is the whole machine.
What you are not buying
This never buys an AI citation, a Google rank, a featured snippet, traffic, or a “we’ll get you found” retainer. A slot on this page. A punch in the ring. Clicks we can count. If someone sells you those other things with our name on it, they are lying.
The board
- Minimum bid is $2. Bids move in $1 steps.
- Highest bid sits highest — except the two in the ring, who can swap if power flips (see below).
- Paying less than the current #1 still places you at whatever rank that dollar amount can take.
- Same site, profile, or app again is a raise. When live, you pay the difference, not a second full bid.
- Equal bids: the older listing stays above the newer one.
- Re-enter to climb. There is no discount for coming down. You cannot lower a bid.
The ring
- The current top two by bid enter the ring.
- Power for a fighter = listing bid + boosts − suppresses.
- $1 = 1 point. Boost adds. Suppress subtracts.
- If the challenger’s power beats the leader, they swap in the ring and on the board.
- Boost and suppress only apply to the pair currently fighting. If a new listing bids into the top two, they become a fighter. Punches from the old pairing reset. The rest of the board stays bid-ranked and cannot be punched.
- Punches never reveal the voter. No name. No handle. No “paid by.”
What you can list
- Any http(s) product website.
- Social profiles: X/Twitter (@handle or a full profile URL), Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Facebook profile or page URLs.
- Apple App Store apps (apps.apple.com/…/idNNNN) and Google Play apps (play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=).
- GitHub user or repo URLs.
- Two apps do not share a bid. App Store numeric id, Play Store package id, and social platform:handle are the keys. Other links use host + path. Query and hash are stripped, except the Play Store id.
- Tracking query strings are ignored. Clicks go to the clean URL.
What we will not list
- No chat or invite links — Telegram, WhatsApp, Discord, Messenger, Signal, and similar. The board is for products and profiles, not group chats.
- No NSFW.
- No URL shorteners. Paste the real destination.
- A website, social profile, or store app. Not a manifesto in the slot field.
How ranking works
- Bid Club is a public leaderboard. You pay to stand above everyone else. Rank is the bid — nothing else — except the two in the ring, who can swap if power flips.
- Bids are whole US dollars. Minimum $2. Steps of $1.
- Paying less than #1 still puts you on the board at whatever rank that bid can take.
- Enter the same website, social, or store app again to raise that listing. You only pay the difference from the current bid. Someone else cannot take your rank by paying that difference.
- Equal bids: the older listing stays above the newer one. You cannot lower a bid.
After you pay
- A completed payment is what claims the rank, the boost, or the suppress. Not a form submit. Not a toast.
- Your listing is public. Clicks go to the URL or profile you submitted, without query parameters.
- Boost and suppress stay anonymous. The fight is public. The voter is not.
- This demo charges nothing. When Stripe is live, a cleared payment is final. No refund after it clears. Raises pay the difference.
Sponsorships
A bid, boost, or suppress is a paid sponsorship on bidclub.lol. The buyer is purchasing a place on this page, or a punch in the current fight. They are not purchasing a backlink, a citation, search-engine ranking, app-store ranking, AI-answer placement, traffic, or any result on any other site.
Nothing sold here is a guarantee. Bid Club rank is the bid (and, for the two in the ring, power). That rank exists only on this site. This is advertising. Paid listings are sponsored placements.
Payment and chargebacks
By completing a purchase you confirm you have reviewed the product and the pricing and you authorize the payment.
If you have any issue with your purchase, email hello@ryanlenk.com before you start a payment dispute or a chargeback. Nothing in this policy limits any rights that cannot legally be excluded.
Ten percent
Ten percent of all sales — bids, boosts, and suppresses — is recorded each week and donated to the American Heart Association, in remembrance and honor of family. This is the operator's pledge. Completing a purchase does not create a charitable tax receipt for you. Bid Club is not affiliated with or endorsed by the American Heart Association.
Crowd, reactions, and notes
- Crowd favorite is free and has zero rank weight. It does not change bid, power, boosts, suppresses, or sort order. A listing with the most crowd taps can show a CROWD FAVORITE badge. A tie shows on neither.
- Reactions (Like, Love, Haha, Wow, Sad, Angry) are the same. They never move rank or power.
- Notes are anonymous. No name, no handle, no email. Labeled ANON. Bigotry is dropped and is not stored.
- You are not buying a citation. A crowd tap, a reaction, or a note is not a Google rank, not a snippet, and not a guarantee.
The wink
You can talk about Bid Club. Please do. The joke is the movie line. The actual secrecy is the voter, not the club.
